Breathing New Life into an Old Hotel — Horizon Rehabilitation Center Begins in Santa Clara

We’re excited to share a project that truly reflects what we’re all about at G&G Builders: transforming spaces for a greater purpose. Our latest design-build effort is now underway in Santa Clara, where we’re converting a former hotel into the new Horizon Rehabilitation Center—a four-story, state-of-the-art facility that will provide care and support for individuals in recovery.

Reimagining a Space for Healing

Back in February, we installed the construction fencing and officially kicked off this transformative project. Taking an old hotel and turning it into a rehab center is no small feat—but it’s exactly the kind of work we love. It allows us to blend adaptive reuse, community impact, and smart construction into one meaningful build. With every phase, we’re reimagining what this space can become for those who will rely on it.

Design-Build in Action

This project is a great example of the power of our design-build approach. By managing both design and construction under one roof, we’re able to streamline communication, reduce costs, and stay nimble throughout the build. We’re handling everything from clearing out the existing interior to working directly with the design team to bring the vision to life. This method keeps us aligned with the client’s goals and leads to better outcomes across the board.

Led by Field Experience

Project Manager Tom is at the helm of this build, bringing his deep construction experience and steady leadership to the jobsite every day. Projects like this require flexibility, foresight, and attention to detail—and Tom brings all of that and more. His ability to keep things moving while staying focused on quality and coordination is a huge part of what makes this project tick.

Looking Ahead

We’re still early in the process, with demo and design phases well underway, but the vision is already taking shape. Over the next 18 months, we’ll continue to transform this structure inside and out—installing new infrastructure, refining room layouts, and making sure every square foot supports the center’s mission to help people heal.

This project is about more than just construction—it’s about supporting our community and making the best use of what’s already there. That’s the kind of work we’re proud to stand behind at G&G Builders.
