Building Hope: Construction Begins on San Jose’s New Safe Sleeping Site for the Unhoused

Construction recently began on the site, which will transform a vacant lot into a thoughtfully planned space offering 75 tents, private fenced areas, restroom and shower facilities, and 24-hour security. This project reflects a growing commitment across California to find real, compassionate solutions for the housing crisis, and we’re honored to be contributing to that vision.

Leading the project are two of our dedicated team members: Tom, serving as Project Manager, and Jesse, our on-site lead. Together, they bring G&G’s proactive, hands-on approach to life—ensuring the project runs smoothly, stays on schedule, and meets the highest standards of quality and care. Their work not only focuses on the technical details but also honors the spirit and purpose of this important project.

Safe sleeping sites are designed to provide more than just a place to stay. They create an environment where individuals can find stability, access vital services, and move toward long-term housing. As builders, we know the impact a safe, dignified space can have, and it’s why we approach projects like this with such care and attention.
